| Three of four here introduced examples of the contraception in the male urethra were found out in the short period from 1997 to 2000, which shows how the theme is interesting. In the older European and American patent literature, one can follow the theme through decades. |
![]() The first picture shows an American patent of the year 1997, under the patent number US 5701914. There is an “expandable body unit” with a function of a seal for a male urethra. |
![]() There is an older German patent from the year 1988, with the patent number DE 3821631, where, by the fastening into the male urethra, there appears an air pressure or a fluid out of a hand pump. |
![]() Another German patent from 1997, with the patent number DE 19704626, has near a kind of a tube also a “sperm bag” in the form of a miniature condom. |
![]() A Japanese patent from the year 2000, under the patent number JP 2001327523, described a condom which is pushed into the male urethra by a rod, and the opened portions are fixed to the glans by an adhesive. |

By studying of many patent descriptions with the topics, one can sum up the whole problem: - The inserting presupposes a lubricant , which makes the fixing in the urethra impossible. - The fixing takes place just by means of expansion, where the mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic solutions are to be proposed. This art of fixing seems to be an ultimative solution. - The male urethra is not able to take over the total quantity of the ejaculate. The catching of sperm, at least particulary, outside of the body, seems to be reasonable. - A partial dressing of the glans, in some of the mentioned solutions, seems to have no convincing advantage in comparison with the usual condom. By oral sex it would be evident in a quite extreme way. - It were desirable, both by putting on and taking away, that the male urethra would be irritated as little as possible, as well as no additional device would be used by removal. |
| Under the mentioned criterion there is an attempt to describe an acceptable contraceptive device which would be put into the male urethra. |
